Animals in Masterpieces

13 works

Thirteen masterpieces with dogs and horses, cats and birds, lions and squirrels. Asselijn's swan spreading its wings against a dog approaching its nest, a black spaniel beside a boy, Diana, goddess of the hunt, with her hounds, a cavalryman's horse, a lion with its prey in the jungle, and Joseon squirrels among grapevines: we gathered paintings in which animals are the stars or help set the scene. With children, a good way to begin is to find the animals first and put them together.
