Winter Masterpiece Puzzles

12 works

Twelve masterpieces that capture winter. Avercamp's winter landscape of hundreds of people skating on frozen Dutch canals; Jan Steen's The Feast of Saint Nicholas, showing a Dutch household on the evening of Sinterklaas on December 5; Pissarro's oil painting of the Boulevard Montmartre in Paris on a winter morning in 1897; Washington crossing the ice-strewn Delaware River on Christmas night in 1776; the Battle of Champigny, fought in a snow-covered village in the winter of 1870; two watercolors Burgy painted on the Mediterranean coast in January and February 1882; and the Andes and the Rocky Mountains with their snow-capped peaks. We also added three sheepskin garments, a coat, a cape and a jacket, that country people in Eastern Europe wore for winter festivals and weddings. Paintings with wide stretches of white snow and gray sky have pieces that look alike, so start with Easy (about 24 pieces).
